An Engineering Approach to Money

They say the hardest thing to do is get started. Last night I decided that it was time to get off the stick and start my own blog. After about a 20 minute net search I found this nice blog software which could be easily put up on my web site so I’m now off and running.

I have a friend who’s in some financial trouble and from being around and about it never ceases to amaze me how many people live on what I consider the edge of serious financial trouble. So I’ve decided to put my thoughts on the matter into this blog and hopefully over time I can help some people make changes for the better.

Lots of folks have written blogs on this topic as it’s an issue we all have to deal with, but my wife and I have been pretty successful in this area and hopefully there is something useful I can add on the subject. My wife and I are both Engineers and understand numbers and approach most aspects of our lives with a problem solving approach. Collect information, consider the results of various actions, then pick the best one. This kind of technical or engineering approach seems to work well for us, and I figure others could benefit from this approach to the issue.

Hopefully I can keep at this and over time will collect a useful set of information for you on how to be financially successful.
